Astonishing 1933 Goudey #13 Lafayette Thompson PSA 9 MINT - "POP 2"; Highest Graded PSA Example!

NONE BETTER!!! Lafayette Thompson may not be a Cooperstown Inductee, but this miraculous PSA 9 Mint 1933 Goudey offering certainly merits cardboard Hall of Fame stature! One of only two PSA 9 Mint examples, its stands tall as the finest of its kind. To place the sheer wonder of this near-impossible grade in perspective, PSA has currently encapsulated some 94,000+ '33 Goudey subjects, with a microscopic 0.2% reflecting the elusive "9 MINT" assessment. Journeyman second sacker Lafayette Fresco Thompson played nine MLB seasons with the Pirates, Giants, Phillies and Dodgers, ultimately retiring with the Giants in 1934. His finest season was 1929 when he posted an outstanding .324 batting average via 202 safeties with the Philadelphia Phillies, and his 1933 Goudey subject portrays him donning his Brooklyn Dodgers uniform. There are simply not enough adjectives to appropriately define this timeless marvel that reveals an immaculate Thompson batting image. Well-centered between four bright white borders, the classic pose reveals only the slightest favoritism towards the upper edge, and the entire perimeter including four right-angled corners exhibits razor-sharp edging. Sparkling hues and an imposing verso reflecting bold green typography complete this unfathomable 89-year-old heirloom that joins only a sole other PSA 9 Thompson as the best of the rest!
