Catalog Copy Update:

This bat was used by Aaron to hit his 704th Home Run. READ batboy Lacombe's letter posted with this Lot. Lacombe is the person to whom Aaron gave his 704th HR bat. Refer to Lacombe's "Bat History" section in his letter. In Lacombe's own Letter of Authenticity (authenticity is misspelled along with other misspellings in his letter); Lacombe states that he was hired as the batboy for the Braves, Aaron went to the plate and hit a Home run. His next turn at bat Aaron cracked the bat he used to hit the Home Run. Then, Lacombe the batboy gave Aaron "a new bat." __

An Actual HOF HOME RUN Bat!
Hank Aaron's 704th HOME RUN BAT! Graded an ultra-high MEARS A9.5!

(LOT 3)
Hank Aaron Home Run #704
Professional Model Louisville Slugger Bat Graded Mears A 9.5
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! This is an Incredible Find!
A Home Run Bat from one of the greatest players ever to play the Game, Mr. Hank Aaron.
THE PROVENANCE
The Home Run was hit on August 18th, 1973 at Jarry Park in a game played against the Montreal Expos. Finding a bat with this kind of eyewitness provenance is truly remarkable. The receiver of the bat was an Expo hired fill-in Batboy for the Atlanta Braves that day, by the name of Laurent Lacombe jr.
Lacombe outlines the event in a personally signed letter. In that letter he states Aaron personally gave him the bat he used to hit the 704th Home run at the end of the game.
Aaron hit the 704th Home Run with it. Aaron then cracked the bat on his next turn at the bat hitting a foul ball. The bat was then set aside in a secure place in the Dugout. After the game Aaron personally gave the bat to the young batboy Lacombe.
This Bat is a true Rare Game Used Home Run bat used by one of the greatest Home Run hitters and sluggers the Game has ever known, Henry Aaron.
THE BAT:
This Mears graded A9.5 is a high grade example of a documented Hank Aaron Home Run bat. The Ash bat perfectly matches the factory records and has the # 44 written on both ends of the bat in vintage worn black marker. The Bat is an Aaron signature Model A99 Hillerich & Bradsby Co., 125 with a Powerized stamping.
HEAVY USAGE:
Mears indicates the Bat usage as Heavy with ball marks and stitch marks "Deeply Embedded". There are also Bat rack markings on the bat and light cleat marks. The Bat has a 6" long crack running through the Hillerich & Bradsby centerbrand stamping which is consistent with the Batboy's letter of authenticity.
MEARS over all authenticated this bat as an Aaron bat and graded it an ultra high 9.5!
This is a premier Hobby rarity. Make this showpiece bat used by one of only three players ever to reach the 700 Home Run + plateau your own! You just don't ever see these rarities come along very often.
