(LOT 1712)
1931 Pittsburgh Pirates Official NL Team-Signed Baseball Including Traynor and the Waner Brothers – JSA LOA Included

Despite owning a roster that featured three of the greatest players in Major League history in Pie Traynor and Lloyd and Paul Waner, the 1931 Pittsburgh Pirates underachieved finishing 5th in the National League, 26 games behind the eventual World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals. And though George Grantham and the Waner brothers eclipsed the .300 batting average mark, with Traynor right behind at .298, Jewel Ens and his squad posted a 75-79-1 record. Offered here is a 1931 Pittsburgh Pirates team-sign Official John Heydler National League baseball with 23 signatures all scripted in Kelly green ink inscribed "Pittsburgh – 1931" across the Sweet spot. Ranging in strength from 3-8, featured signatures include coaches "Doc" Crandall and Oscar Stanage, Geo. Grantham (5), Pie Traynor (6-7), Heine Meine (3), Paul Waner (3-4), manager Jewel Ens (3) and Lloyd Waner (7-8). The ball does show some toning due to age and possible game-use (though we cannot verify this) with light staining and wear from 90 years of storage. This is certainly a unique opportunity to own a ball signed by three of the great Pirates Hall of Famers and their team all in green no less. JSA LOA included.
