1950s Mickey Mantle Pinback Button with Attached Ribbon and Brass Plated Bat and Ball
MICKEY RIBBON!!! Few players in history have put a decade together like Mickey Mantle had during the 1950s. The Mick blasted 280 homers (more than half of his career total), was an 8X All-Star, won two AL MVP awards and captured the Triple Crown in 1956. That's a career!! And he wasn't done by far. Offered here is a beautiful 2" diameter pinback from Mantle's early days as a Yankee. The button shows little to no wear, no surface abrasions and pristine edging. The reverse displays expected, but minimal, rust due to 70 years of aging, but the pin remains intact and sharp. Attached is a 4-1/2" ribbon that reveals slight toning within the white, perhaps from the hanging trinkets. Light fray at the bottom of the red stripe visible. The bat and ball also show minimal expected wear, but still display shiny brass surfaces. This beauty is another highly collectible artifact from one of the greatest careers in baseball history.
