(LOT 1261)
1952-1969 Mickey Mantle Graded Card Run (44 Different)

MICKEY RUN!!! What can you say about Mickey Charles Mantle that has not already been said, especially within the sports collectibles industry over the past few decades? And where would the collectibles market be without one of the most significant figures whose artifacts and cards set records on a regular basis. Mantle's exploits on the field are legendary as the young coal miner from Oklahoma took the baseball world by storm starting in 1951 and did not cease for nearly 20 years. The Mick led the American League four times in home runs; was a 20-time All-Star and a three-time AL MVP; and captured the rare Triple Crown in 1956. Still considered one of the greatest hitters in history, and certainly the greatest switch-hitter ever, Mantle's 18 home runs in World Series play remains intact more than 50 years after he led seven Yankees teams to World Series titles. The offered is a cardboard history of the Mick's illustrious career featuring 44 different graded cards from 1952 to 1969. While missing many of the Mantle regional issues, Wheaties, Kellogg's and Bazooka as well as the highly sought-after 1951 Bowman and 1952 Topps, this compilation of Mickey Mantle cards in low-to-mid-grade condition is one to consider. This assemblage should woo any and all collectors, no matter the experience, eager to build sets with Mantle as the anchor. As we all know, Mantle remains one the key cards to any set and this is an excellent collection of graded examples around which to build Set Registry quality sets.

In chronological order, the offering features: 1952 Bowman #101 PSA 4, 1953 Bowman Color #44 PSA 3, 1953 Bowman Color #59 PSA 4, 1954 Bowman #65 PSA 6, 1955 Bowman #202 PSA 3, 1956 Topps #135 White Back PSA 4, 1956 Topps #135 Gray Back PSA 4, 1957 Topps #96 PSA 4, 1957 Topps #407 PSA 3, 1958 Topps #150 PSA 7, 1958 Topps #418 PSA 6, 1958 Topps #487 SGC 5, 1959 Topps PSA 4(MC), 1959 Topps #461 SGC 5.5, 1959 Topps #564 PSA 7(OC), 1960 Topps #350 BGS 4.5, 1960 Topps #160 BCCG 9, 1960 Topps #563 BGS 4.5, 1961 Topps #44 PSA 7, 1961 Topps #300 PSA 6, 1961 Topps #307 PSA 6, 1961 Topps #406 PSA 6, 1961 Topps #475 BCCG 9, 1961 Topps #578 PSA 6, 1962 Topps #18 PSA 5, 1962 Topps #53 PSA 7, 1962 #200 PSA 6.5, 1962 Topps #318 PSA 4, 1962 Topps #471 PSA 7, 1963 Topps #2 SGC 6, 1963 Topps #200 PSA 200, 1963 Topps #173 BCCG 8, 1964 Topps #50 PSA 6(MK), 1964 Topps #331 PSA 5, 1964 Topps Stand-Up PSA 6, 1965 Topps #3 SGC 6, 1965 Topps #134 PSA 6, 1965 Topps #350 PSA 4, 1966 Topps #50 PSA 2, 1967 Topps #103 Checklist 2 PSA 8, 1967 Topps #150 PSA 6, 1968 Topps #280 PSA 4, 1968 Topps #490 SGC 7 & 1969 Topps #500 Last Name in Yellow PSA 4.
