1933 Goudey #216 Signed Vernon "Lefty" Gomez (SGC AUTHENTIC)
Few people realize that Yankees Hall of Fame southpaw Vernon 'Lefty" Gomez won two "Pitching Triple Crowns" when he led the American League in wins, strikeouts and E.R.A. in both the 1934 and 1937 campaigns! A remarkable feat, Gomez was the mainstay of the Bronx Bombers staff, ably assisting them in winning five world championships during his 12-year "Big Apple" stint from 1930-1942. As a grand testament for his heralded achievements, presented here is Gomez's signed 1933 Goudey #216 subject, authenticated by SGC with his extremely bold blue "'Lefty Gomez" script penned beneath his waist. The "Lefty Gomez" signature emanates solid "9/10" strength, and stands as one of the boldest signed Goudey subjects we have ever encountered. The card's only noteworthy blemish is a somewhat diagonal surface scratch near the central-left edge, with the remaining aesthetics consist with any "VG-EX" Goudey example!
