1933 Goudey #234 Signed "King" Carl Hubbell (SGC AUTHENTIC)
Hall of Famer "King" Carl Hubbell is one of the greatest southpaws to ever toe the rubber, with the screwball artist amassing 253 victories over his spectacular 16-year career with the New York Giants. The "Meal Ticket" is the only pitcher to ever capture two MVP awards during a peacetime period (Hal Newhouser won two MVP's during WWII), and still owns the MLB record of winning 24 consecutive games over two seasons. Owner of five consecutive 20-win seasons from 1933 thru 1937, one of his most prized cardboard issues is the 1933 Goudey #233 half-portrait subject that is offered with an absolutely spectacular blue fountain pen "Carl Hubbell" autograph. Portraying "9/10" strength, the near-perfect signature is affixed across Hubbell's bright white uniform, and while there is a previously erased mark in the upper right quadrant and additional notations on the verso, it is the remarkable signature that "steals the show." It should be noted that a previous example fetched nearly $6K in August 2020, a bona fide testament for a signed Hubbell Goudey's immense desirability!
