(LOT 232)
1933 Goudey #168 Signed Leon "Goose" Goslin (PSA AUTHENTIC) – One of Only 4 PSA Encapsulated Copies!

Of the two Goose Goslin 1933 Goudey subjects, finding a signed #168 batting version is a more excruciating task, with PSA's illustrious 'Pop" Chart listing only four batting examples. One of those four meager autographed specimens is presented here, sporting a sensational black fountain pen script depicting conservative "8" strength. Just as imposing is the card's vibrant hues are the overall aesthetics, consistent with any "VG-EX" Goudey specimen. Hall of Famer Leon "Goose" Goslin played 18 Major League seasons, 12 of which were spent with the Washington Senators, and the remaining six campaigns in Detroit and St. Louis (Browns). He managed to win World Series titles in Washington (1924) and Detroit (1935), and ended his stellar career with a .316 batting average and .387 on-base percentage. While he is one of the most underrated players in baseball history, his signed #168 Goudey subject is highly coveted amongst advanced autographed enthusiasts. Substantiating that notion is a #168 scripted subject fetching nearly $4,000 in an August 2020 auction. Indeed, the combination of the spine-tingling bold ink signature and the card's superb eye appeal place this masterpiece as one of the more desirable autographed Goudey examples!
