The first mainstream Basketball issue distributed since Bowman's inaugural issue in 1948 produced a set that is mostly rookie cards, 19 of which feature players that went on to become legendary Hall of Famers. Of course, the main Rookie of the set is the Bill Russell rookie card, considered by many to be the most important Rookie card in the hobby. Other possible rookie card in this set are: Bob Cousy, Bob Pettit, Tom Heinsohn, Vern Mikkelsen, Tom Gola and many more.
