1935 New York Yankees Team 8" x 10" Photo Taken at Spring Training PSA Authenticated Type 1 Thorne Photograph PSA/DNA LOA
Offered is a 1935 New York Yankees team photo featuring Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez and three other Hall of Famers along with team owner Jacob Ruppert. 1935 began the post-Babe Ruth era after NY opted not to sign the aging star, Bambino signed a one-year deal with the Boston Braves. The Yankees finished 2nd in the American League that season going 89-60. The presented photo remains in excellent condition with minor toning at the borders and with some corner wear that includes paper loss (upper left) and creasing at upper right. The reverse holds a "THORNE PHOTO" stamp and a small smudge at upper right. Based on the lack of Yankees Stadium or the skyline in the background, not to mention the palm tree behind Gehrig and Dickey, we deduce that this photo was taken at spring training prior to the '35 season.
