c. 1920s Babe Ruth in Muscle Top 8" x 10" PSA Encapsulated Type 1 Apeda Studios Photograph
Babe Ruth was notoriously overindulgent over much of his career, but most fans don't realize that lengths he would go to return to playing form once the season began. Ruth employed personal trainer Artie McGovern yearly to whip the Bambino back into shape. Offered is a muscle-teed Ruth Apeda Studios photo, perhaps prior to a McGovern workout, showing the youthful slugger in workout clothes ready to hit the weights or spar or whatever his trainer required. The borders are minimally toned with a small pinhole at top, expected aging and paper loss at the bottom right corner. Light surface abrasions present with a minute crease at right. The reverse reveals toning and paper caption residue from removal. Included is a signed letter of authenticity from Vice President of Parkman Productions, Inc., Patricia Walsh, daughter-in-law of Ruth's longtime agent Christy Walsh.
