(LOT 331)
1916 Famous & Barr #35 Charles Comiskey SGC 6 EX-NM

OLD ROMAN'S BEST!!! A decent player in his own right, Charles Comiskey played 13 seasons of professional baseball, but left his indelible mark on the game as the founder and owner of the Chicago White Sox for more than 30 years. His five American League pennants and two World Series titles before 1920 were unmatched though his players would ultimately turn on the hard-driving Commy leading to the "Black Sox" scandal when eight players threw the 1919 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. The offered is the highest SGC-graded example of the 1916 Famous & Barr #35 Charles Comisky (Comiskey) and only one example tops this SGC 6 EX-NM on the PSA Pop Report. The sepia-toned card is clear with creamy borders and an untouched verso. One of the finest examples of the Old Roman in this 1916 release!
