(LOT 72)
1909 T206 Nap Lajoie "Throwing" – Piedmont 150 Subjects/Factory 25 PSA 8 NM-MT - "1 of 5 Piedmonts; Only 2 PSA Listed Piedmonts Graded Higher!"

One of the most popular T206 Hall of Famers is the legendary Napoleon Lajoie, with his sanctified Piedmont 150 Subjects T206 "Throwing" subject presented here in an amazing PSA NM-MT 8 holder. One of a meager five PSA listed Piedmonts at this exalted plateau, only two Piedmont specimens are listed at a higher technical assessment! Along with Rogers Hornsby and Eddie Collins, Lajoie is considered one of the top three 2nd-sackers of all-time, and his amazing .426 batting average (posted in 1901), still stands as a Major League record. That 1901 campaign would see the Lajoie capture what would be the modern-day equivalent of baseball's "Triple Crown", with the slick-fielding second baseman adding a league-leading 14 round-trippers and 125 runs batted in to his aforementioned .426 average.

Synonymous with his premier standing is this outstanding offering that reflects spectacular attributes consistent with the seldom-surfacing PSA grade. The classic Lajoie throwing pose exhibits vivid resolution and vibrant facial hues, highly complimented by a spectacular yellow/orange and tranquil green background. Near-perfect centering between four super bright white borders creates an impeccable frame for one of the finest Lajoie images you will ever come across. Blistering sharp corner tips, super clean surfaces, and an extremely bold PIEDMONT 150 Subjects verso are the final "stamps of approval" for this cardboard masterpiece that has stubbornly defied "Father-Time" for the past 102 years!
