1959 Topps All-Star # 564 Mickey Mantle PSA 9 MINT - "Only 2 Examples Graded Higher"!
Due to the unequivocal prestige of Mickey Mantle's inaugural 1952 Topps card, his remaining issues continue to soar in popularity and value, with this remarkable 1959 Topps All-Star #564 PSA Mint 9 touching the pinnacle of success due to only two meager examples exceeding its sheer brilliance. In fact, of the nearly 4,500 PSA encapsulated copies, a paltry 1% have managed to achieve the sanctified 'Mint 9" assessment. "Pack-Fresh" in every conceivable way, you can almost feel Mantle's Goliath like strength via his iconic batting pose as he prepares to blast another Pegasus-like round-tripper into the upper deck. Near perfect centering, an imposing blue background, pin-point corners, bright white borders and a glistening obverse side are the highlights of this surface 62-year-old masterpiece. Interestingly enough, the verso's cartoon caricature of Mantle's left-handed swing includes the verbiage: "MICKEY IS THE BEST SWITCH HITTER OF ALL-TIME" and "HE IS THE TAPE MEASURE CHAMPION OF MODERN SLUGGERS". Accurate to say the least, our only edit would be to say that "The Mick" is the ALL-TIME "Tape-Measure" champion for no ballplayer, before or after, could hit a horsehide sphere as hard and far as the immortal Mickey Charles Mantle!
