(LOT 522)
1955 Topps Baseball Doubleheaders Complete Set of 132 Players on 66 Cards

COMPLETE SET!!! The offered 66 cards (132 players) in the eye-catching 1955 Topps Doubleheaders Perforated set is in overall EX+NM condition with a few better. Similar to the 1911 T201 Mecca Double Folders, these cards feature two players. When unfolded, these cards measure 2-1/16" by 4-7/8" and showcase player pictures against colorful stadium backgrounds. A second player is featured when the cards are folded the other way. The players share the same lower legs and feet. The player's name, team and position are indicated, and the photos resemble those on the background of their images on the 1955 Topps series. Card backs showcase biographical information, statistics and the card numbers.

When placed side-by-side in reverse numerical order, the backgrounds on these cards form a continuous stadium scene. Originally distributed in one-card, penny packs with gum, these cards were manufactured in much smaller quantities than the regular 1955 Topps singles and are now, very popular with collectors. Rarely seen or offered in full set form, this set is RAW and the key cards are as follows in EX+NM condition unless noted: #3/4 Irvin/Kemmerer EX+, #25/26 J. Robinson/Hoak EX, #31/32 Pollet/Banks EX, #45/46 Kaline/Valentine, #69/70 T. Williams/Smith, #105/106 Aaron/Herbert EX+ Slight OC, #111/112 Killebrew/Podres NM Slight OC, #127/128 Spahn/Brewer NM Slight OC & #129/130 Gilliam/Kinder EX+ OC. The remaining cards are all EX+NM condition with some gradable cards.
