(LOT 319)
1960/'61 Oscar Robertson ROOKIE IMAGE - PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Photo - Measures Approx. 8-1/8 x 10" (Incl. PSA Type I LOA)

The list of superlatives for the legendary Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson is synonymous to an infinite-like novel, for along with Russell, Jordan, Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Bryant and LeBron James, he stands tall as one of the greatest players in NBA history. His lifetime statistics solidify his irrefutable iconic standing with the "Big O" averaging an unfathomable 25.7 points, 9.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game. For 14 seasons with the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks he dominated the hardwood floor virtually better than any of his peers, dubbed "Mr. Triple Double" since he resides as the only basketball player to ever achieve the miraculous feat of averaging a "triple double" for an entire season! The 12x all-star point guard won his only MVP award in 1964, claimed 6 NBA assist titles and won an NBA championship in 1971 with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Like so many other immortal sports stars, his ROOKIE related keepsakes are highly sought after, with this breathtaking PSA Type 1 offering issued during "Roberson's" inaugural 1960/'61 campaign. Measuring approximately 8-1/8" x 10", "Big O" is portrayed dribbling a basketball in his Cincinnati uniform, with this imposing image exhibiting the finest possible contrast and clarity. A vertical crease near the upper border and diminutive lower right edge chip do not distract from the world-class Robertson pose as the 6'5" point guard provides a glimpse of the truly spectacular career he is about to embark on. Awe-inspiring to say the least, this spine-tingling rookie era memento easily stands as one of Robertson's most significant photos extant!
