1933 Goudey #144 Babe Ruth (PSA VG 3)
Babe Ruth's legacy is not only tied to being the finest player to ever grace a baseball diamond, but arguably, the most popular athlete on the globe. His unfathomable records and "off the field" charisma governed baseball for two decades, establishing an unprecedented benchmark for any respective sport. Regarding his cardboard relics, there are certainly a myriad to choose from but the cards extremely sought after just happen to be the Bambino's four 1933 Goudey subjects. One of those highly coveted Goudey Gum cards is the #144 Babe Ruth "full body swinging pose" and it is this cherished gum card that is presented here in a splendid PSA VG 3 holder. The Babe's stranglehold on as our National Pastime's greatest all-time player is irrefutable, with a vast number of his 714 home runs walloped when teams didn't even hit 50 in a season!

Ruth's majestic Charles Conlon batting pose is a bona-fide testament to his immortality as he watches another mighty wallop sail towards the grandstands. Set against a brilliant array of tranquil yellow, green and brown hues, the sparkling "Ruthian" pose nearly projects a "3-D" like aura as it appears the Babe is ready to jump off the card. Typical for many of these examples, the image is somewhat off-centered, in this case showing a partiality towards the right edge. For full disclosure, its technical assessment is primarily due to even corner wear (actually depicting an eye pleasing uniformity) and some stray wrinkles near the upper left quadrant. Yet, most significantly, its stellar overall aesthetics "steal the show", a concept so effortlessly achieved by Ruth's unbridled batting skills during the height of his unparalleled career!
