(LOT 668)
1915 Cracker Jack #69 John McGraw (PSA NM-MT 8) - Only 2 Examples Graded Higher"!

One of the 1915 Cracker Jack's most prestigious subjects is the pugnacious managerial icon John McGraw with "Little Napoleon's classic illustration presented on this sensational PSA NM/MT 8 Cracker Jack marvel. Due to the caramel staining and ultra-thin paper, high-grade Cracker Jack examples are few and far between with this PSA 8 gem only bested by a meager 2 specimens! McGraw was a standout 3rd baseman for the 19th century Baltimore club for which he batted over .300 nine consecutive seasons.

However, regardless of his playing excellence, McGraw's immortal stature is predominately due to his 29-year stint as the New York Giants manager. He won an astounding 8 pennants and 3 World Championships, and his managerial legacy will outlast eternity, forever embedded in our National Pastime's glorious history. McGraw was possessed with winning and it is apropos that this splendid 1915 Cracker Jack offering depicts a championship caliber pose of the legendary field general. You can feel McGraw's intensity via his classic "half-body" hands at hips" crystal clear pose that is set against a seemingly flawless robust red setting.

The atypically well-centered image only reveals a modest favoritism towards the right edge, residing between four relatively clean borders with no obtrusive flaws on either side. The final superlative are the four blistering sharp corner tips, substantiating why all of the aforementioned imposing attributes merit this world-class keepsake a secure place in any esteemed Cracker Jack compilation!
