(LOT 250)
1909 T206 Joe Tinker "Portrait" – Sweet Caporal 350 Subjects/Factory 25 (PSA EX/MT 6)

Presented here is the legendary Hall of Fame Chicago Cubs shortstop Joe Tinker in his highly coveted T206 "Portrait" version. This outstanding PSA EX/MT 6 offering is one of only eleven "Sweet Caporal Cigarette" copies identified on the PSA "Pop" chart with a mere seven examples graded higher. Renowned Cooperstown inductee Joe Tinker achieved his immortality via his legendary status as the first link of the iconic Chicago Cub's double play combination "Tinker to Evers to Chance", and synonymous with Tinker's aforementioned prestige is this seemingly "pack-fresh" T206 PSA 6 memento that still presents an abundance of its original attributes.

Aesthetically superior to the grade, Tinker's classic Carl Horner portrait pose is affixed to a strikingly rich crimson red background, with the contrast and sparkling color schemes of his facial hues, period hair style and Cub's uniform virtually impeccable. The well-centered image resides between four snow-white borders, and the extremely sharp edging includes three NM/7-like corners, with only the upper left corner reflecting modest wear preventing a higher assessment. Relatively clean surfaces, and a bold red "Sweet Caporal 350 Subjects" verso complete this awe-inspiring keepsake that via its brilliant visual appeal, merits a final resting place in any esteemed T206 gathering!
