(LOT 223)
1909 T206 Frank Chance "Yellow Portrait" – Sweet Caporal 350 Subjects/Factory 30 (PSA EX/MT 6)

The immortal Hall of Famer Frank Chance will forever be linked to the legendary "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double play combination, with the slick fielding 1st baseman posting a formidable .296 lifetime batting average as well as stealing a Cubbies record 402 bases in the "Windy City". He was also regarded as one of the finest field generals of his time, winning 946 games as manager for the Cubs, Yankees and Red Sox. From 1906 – 1910 he led the Cubs to four pennants in five years including two World Championships (1907; 08), with this outstanding PSA EX/MT 6 Chance T206 Sweet Caporal 350 Subjects offering likewise depicting championship caliber.

The brilliant portrait image reveals a flawless-like orange/yellow hued background encompassing Carl Horner's timeless Chance pose. Although the classic Chance pose does favor the upper edge, its superb vertical centering, bright white borders, relatively clean surfaces and moderate corner wear consistent with the grade all combine to support the highly coveted PSA assessment. It is no secret that eye pleasing T206's representing Cooperstown's most legendary players are among the hottest commodities in the hobby, more than substantiating why this esteemed keepsake merits a final resting place in any advanced tobacco gathering!
