(LOT 195)
Outstanding c.1960s Wilt Chamberlain "Dunking a Basketball" PSA Type I Encapsulated Photo – Measures Approx. 8" x 10"

This sensational photo of the immortal Hall of Fame center Wilt Chamberlain personifies his unparalleled legacy as he once again is about to dunk a basketball in such an effortless manner. The 7'1" superstar's sheer dominance over his overmatched peers throughout the 1960's even surpassed Babe Ruth's supremacy of baseball hurlers, with his incredible list of NBA records and/or accomplishments so extensive we can only begin to touch upon his ultimate greatness. Wilt "The Stilt" scored over 30,000 points to the tune of a 30.07 "points per game" average that only stands a shade behind Michael Jordan's 30.12 all-time mark. Amazingly, Chamberlain averaged over 20 rebounds and 30 points over his entire 15-year career, and is the only player to score 100 points in a game, a feat he accomplished in a game against the N.Y. Knicks on March 2, 1962.

He unquestionably stands as one of the top 10 players in NBA history, with some historians still considering him the greatest all-time player. This 8" x 10" illustration stands as the quintessential Chamberlain piece, donning his classic Philadelphia uniform as his right arm easily towers above the rim before another thunderous dunk. Taken during the 1960s, the central image remains intact, depicting fine centering, vivid registration and superb contrast. Some scattered wrinkles exist along the borders and there is a diagonal crease situated near the lower right quadrant. A remarkable testament for this iconic superstar, its awe-inspiring portrayal of 'Wilt the Stilt" conjures up vivid memories of how many of his statistical achievements still stand "heads and heels" above all who ever graced an NBA hard-wood floor!
