(LOT 155)
1930 New York Yankees Team Image - PSA Type 1 Encapsulated Pacific & Atlantic Photo – Includes 10 Hall of Famers w/Ruth & Gehrig – Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 9-3/4" – PSA Type 1 LOA

The 1930 Yankees would win an impressive 86 games to the tune of a .558 winning percentage, earning them 3rd place in the American League standings and a distant 16 games behind Connie Mack's pennant winning Athletics. Managed by Bob Shawkey, the organization would boast an unfathomable 11 Hall of Famers including five of those Cooperstown Inductees in their starting lineup (Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Dickey, and Combs), four enshrined pitchers (Ruffing, Pennock, Hoyt and a rookie Lefty Gomez), their iconic president (Colonel Jacob Ruppert) and general manger (Ed Barrow). This spectacular 1930 Yankees team photo taken at their Spring Training site in St. Petersburg, Florida depicts an incredible 45 individuals, including ten of the eleven aforementioned Cooperstown Inductees (only Ed Barrow is missing), as well as the Yankees legendary mascot Eddie Bennett (seated in the front row 6th from the left).

Interestingly enough, with the exception of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig who are wearing white warmup sweatshirts, all of the other players and coaches are donning their classic Yankee pinstripe jerseys. Measuring approximately 6-1/2" x 9-3/4", this ultra-rare masterpiece exhibits fine contrast and registration, with the only notable flaws being a few stray wrinkles across the upper region that do not impede the critical central image. The verso includes the significant "PACIFIC & ATLANTIC" credit stamp as well as a caption stating the image was taken in ST. Petersburg, FL. on March 8, 1930. A magnificent keepsake from the inaugural year of the 1930's decade, it includes a sensational 10 Cooperstown Inductees, two of which being the immortal "Sultan of Swat" and "Iron Horse" who formed the most prolific batting tandem in baseball history!
