1927 New York Yankees Team Photo - PSA Type II Wide World Photos – Measures 8" x 10" – PSA Type ll Encapsulation

The iconic 1927 Yankees will forever be arguably considered "the greatest team in baseball history"! Led by Babe Ruth's 60 home runs and Lou Gehrig's MVP season, "Murderer's Row" (Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Meusel and Combs) paved the way for the Yankees winning an amazing 110 games against only 44 loses, literally "cake-walking" to the American League pennant behind the wizardry of HOF manager Miller Huggins. As an almost "anticlimax", the Yankees would eventually claim their second world championship by easily sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates in an uncontested four games. As a fitting testament for that unparalleled season, presented here just happens to be a spectacular 8" x 10" PSA Type II photo of the 1927 New York Yankees, re-struck by WIDE WORLD PHOTOS of the original negative during the 1950's.

Deemed a PSA Type II photo because it was issued after a 2-year period from the original negative, it is still some 70 years old and emanates brilliant aesthetics. No glaring flaws are evident and all of the iconic Yankees are present including Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri, Combs, Meusel, Hoyt, Pennock, Shawky, Huggins and so many more of the stars that comprised this immortal team. The flipside reflects some negligible notations as well as a WIDE WORLD PHOTOS 's caption. A truly significant offering, its legendary 1927 Yankees team image transcends the collector back to a definitive moment of time when Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and their remaining Yankee teammates turned the baseball world "upside-down" via their "Goliath-like" 1927 performance!
