(LOT 110)
1937 Hank Greenberg w/a Young Boy - PSA Type I Encapsulated Central Press Association Photo – Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2"

Originally taken before a Detroit Tigers 1937 Spring Training game on March 11, 1937, this ultra-obscure offering portrays the great Hall of Fame 1st baseman "Hammerin" Hank Greenberg and outfielder Jo-Jo White greeting a very young captivated fan. One of our National Pastime's greatest all-time 1st sackers, Greenberg's 1937 season would see this legendary slugger belt 40 round-trippers, knock in an incredible 184 runs (3rd highest figure ever behind Wilson & Gehrig), tally a stellar .337 batting average and post a sensational 1.105 OPS. Likewise outstanding are the aesthetics of this 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" marvel that emanates world-class contrast and resolution, with the faint diagonal surface wrinkles situated near the upper right and lower left corners rendered virtually negligible. Greenberg and White are donning their Detroit home flannel jerseys, leaning on their period-style lumber that ably assisted 'Hammerin Hank" in terrorizing opposing hurlers for some 13 MLB seasons! – PSA Type I Encapsulation
