(LOT 51)
1968 Topps #230 Pete Rose (PSA Gem Mint 10) – HIGHEST GRADED Example!

Pete Rose, mister "Charlie Hustle" himself, currently resides at the apex of baseball's all-time hit list, and his representation on this 1968 Topps PSA Gem Mint 10 masterpiece has likewise achieved pinnacle status! Every so often a card comes along that leaves even the high-end collector "speechless', a card with eye appeal so breathtaking, it even exceeds the qualities of a "pack fresh" example which is the case for this 52-year old marvel. PSA has encapsulated nearly 3,200 specimens with only a microscopic like 0.3% fortunate enough to achieve the hallowed "Gem Mint 10" assessment.

We all know the story of why Pete Rose hasn't been inducted into baseball's illustrious Hall of Fame. Unfortunately for Rose, in the eyes of the voters, his gambling exploits have superseded his overwhelming on the field accomplishments. While it remains to be seen how this scenario plays out, one cannot deny his all-time 4,256 hit record, as well as the aggressive style of baseball he was most famous for that eventually led to Rose's renowned "Charlie Hustle" nickname. His achievements were so awe inspiring that baseball fans simply could not leave him off baseball's "team of the century" roster, and ironically, this supreme offering should be included on a "cards of the century" listing.

Every attribute is seemingly flawless, including the imposing Pete Rose batting image, crystal-clear clarity, sparkling hues, razor sharp corners, immaculate surfaces and atypical near-perfect centering. An absolute "blazer" in every sense of the word, it is a near-impossible circumstance that a card portraying such brilliant aesthetics surfaces for the taking. While Pete Rose may never be enshrined in Cooperstown, his representation on this brilliant offering is undoubtedly a member of any cardboard Hall of Fame, justifying its final resting place in any world-class PSA Registered 1968 Topps gathering!
