Housed in their original "HAZEL" cardboard boxes, these 2 pieces of luggage were gifted to Joe DiMaggio for the August 13th, 1977 New York Yankees Old Timers Day. This marked the Yankees 31st Old-Timers Day. Old-Timers Day began as a tribute to the dying Lou Gehrig on July 4th, 1939. That day, the Yankees invited Lou's teammates from the 1927 New York Yankees Murderer's Row team. It was the 50th Anniversary of those '27 Yankees that many, up until this day consider the 1927 New York Yankees to be the best team in sports history. These are 2 pieces of the Yankee Clippers memorabilia you won't want to miss. Address labels on both boxes read, "New York Yankees, Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY 10451 and addressed to: Joe DiMaggio, 2150 Beach Street, San Francisco, CA 94123.
