(LOT 1319)
Lot of (2) 1949 Atlanta Crackers Scorecards Autographed by Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges Eddie Mathews & More PSA/DNA Pre-Certified

On April 8, 1949, the Brooklyn Dodgers came to Atlanta to play a three-game series with the Atlanta Crackers. The games were televised locally and featured two black players, Jackie Robinson and Roy Campenella. It was the first integrated professional baseball game in Atlanta. Coincidentally, Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's' homerun record twenty-five years to the day after Atlanta's first integrated professional baseball game, making April 8 an historic day in Atlanta baseball history.

Players who signed the scorecard include Brooklyn Dodgers: Jackie Robinson (light signature), Duke Snider, Carl Erskine, Cookie Lavagetto, Don Newcombe and Gil Hodges and Atlanta Crackers: Earl Monsor, Ralph "County" Brown and Harold "Jack" Daniels. Next scorecard includes ATLANTA BRAVES Baseball Hall Of Famer Eddie Mathews, then a ROOKIE with the Atlanta Crackers. Other players: Bob Thorpe, Whitt Wyatt, Ebba St. Claire and Jim Woods. Both scorecards have been handled. But to think these 2 scorecards were front and center on the day of this historical moment. A great Coca Cola advertisement on each of the scorecards make for an attractive piece of memorabilia to add to your advanced Jackie Robinson signed collection. PSA/DNA Pre-Certified
