DESERT SHIELD!!! 1991 Topps Desert Shield Baseball was given out to troops involved in the first Gulf War. It is rumored that anywhere from 6,500 to 7,000 sets were made. Under modern circumstances, that might not seem extremely rare. But this was the early 1990s, an era where 1991 Donruss Elite inserts numbered to 10,000 set off a frenzy. And even with all those sets, not many were kept in top condition. It's likely lots didn't even make it home. The Chipper Jones Rookie and Nolan Ryan cards are the 2 most sought after cards in this set. We are offering a complete set of 792 cards that are RAW and in overall NM-MT condition. Our consignor worked at a Buick Dealership in upstate new York near Fort Drum. Over 90% of these cards were obtained from soldiers stationed at Fort Drum. Extremely RARE modern set that has significant upside!!!
