(LOT 653)
c.1920's Babe Ruth w/a Young Handicapped Boy - Type 1 Photo - Measures Approx. 8" x 10" - PSA Type 1 Encapsulation

We cannot imagine a more "perfect" testament to Ruth's celebrated legacy of showing nothing but the utmost attention and kindness to his youthful fan base than this magnificent 8" x 10" Type 1 offering. Indeed, this awe-inspiring early 1920's offering can literally send chills down any enthusiast's spine via the classic image that portrays a rather thin "Sultan of Swat" using a young boy's crutch to demonstrate the proper way of gripping and swinging a baseball bat. Donning his dapper formal attire, Ruth is holding one of the two crutches with his legendary grip that walloped so many baseball's clear of any ballpark's fences.

His captivated young admirer looks on with intense awe, with the central image fortunately avoiding any obtrusive blemishes. Noteworthy flaws include several border chips along the right border and lower right corner, as well as a diminutive tear situated near the lower right border. It is no secret the love and admiration that the "Babe" felt for virtually all children, most likely due to his precarious upbringing at St, Mary's Orphanage that left an indelible "soft-spot" in his heart for the seemingly infinite number of young aspiring Americans. This extremely eclectic offering effectively brings that notion to light, truly capturing the hearts of its viewers with immense inspiration!
