(LOT 226)
"Unique for the Grade" 1951 Bowman #148 Granny Hamner (PSA Gem Mint 10) – "1 of 1": The SOLE Highest Graded Example!

Slick fielding middle-infielder Granny Hamner played 17 Major League seasons, most of them with the Philadelphia Phillies where he just happened to be part of three All-Star squads in consecutive seasons (1952-1954). Synonymous with that superlative is this All-Star cardboard offering that via its sanctified PSA Gem Mint 10 assessment stands as the SOLE copy at this pinnacle plateau, besting over 330+ inferior PSA graded examples!

Hamner's classic batting pose is breathtaking to say the least, as he firmly grips his lumber awaiting a pitch against a period style stadium backdrop. Impeccable clarity and the most sparkling facial tints and red/gray hues imaginable "steal the show" for the extremely well-centered image. Blinding white borders, a gleaming obverse side surface and ultra-sharp corner tips complete the stupendous front side that only reveals a slightly rough lower edge factory cut that is very typical for many of the 1951 Bowman subjects (and most significantly, well within the accepted threshold of the rather strict PSA grading standards for high-grade cards).

The final stamp of approval is a clean flipside that only depicts a diminutive soiling spot on the "Throws" text (between the letters "w" and "s"). The finest of its kind, it has proudly retained virtually all of its original pristine-like attributes to stand tall as the premier example on the planet!
