One of the all-time classic hockey sets is the 1924/'25 Champs Cigarettes C144 compilation issued by the Tobacco Products Corporation of Canada, Ltd. Measuring approximately 1-1/2" x 2-1/2", these sepia-toned cards were inserted into packs of Champs Cigarettes and included 60 different subjects, with brief bios in English affixed to the versos. That said, presented here just happens to be one of the premier 100% complete 1924/'25 Champs Cigarettes C144 sets, a 60-subject offering with all the PSA graded cards totaling to a remarkable 6.04 Weighted GPA w/Top Pop Bonuses! Indeed, our distinguished consignor obviously spent years putting this "labor of love" together with his utmost patience resulting in this set residing as the 5Th finest compilation on the "ALL-TIME" PSA Set Registry.

The excruciatingly difficult task of completing this set in any grade is justified by the PSA Set registry that only lists five 100% complete sets on the ALL-TIME list! The set includes an imposing 18 Hockey Hall of Famers (30% of the 60-subject gathering), with superstars such as Georges Vezina, Howie Morenz, Clarence "Hap" Day and King Clancy just a few of the 18 legends that have been inducted into the iconic Toronto, Ontario, Canada based Museum. Almost as impressive are the amazing 31 incorporated rookie cards that total to over 50% of the complete set, of which 3 are Hall of Famers (Connell, Smith & Day).

The breakdown of the technical assessments is as follows: 3 (PSA NM/MT 8's); 1 (PSA NM+ 7.5); 21 (PSA NM 7's - of which one card has an OC Qualifier); 1 (PSA EX/MT+ 6.5); 16 (PSA EX/MT 6's); 12 (PSA EX %'s); 4 (PSA VG/EX 4's); and 2 (PSA Good 2's). These impressive grades result in some formidable population report data such as: 5 cards sharing the distinction of being the highest graded examples; 13 cards having only "Pop 1" higher, and 7 cards having only "Pop 2" higher.
