(LOT 6)
Jackie Robinson Single Signed Official International League Baseball PSA/DNA NM-MT 8 AUTO GRADE, JSA LOA

On Jackie Robinson's tombstone in Brooklyn's Cypress Hills Cemetery, close to five miles from where Ebbets Field once stood, the following words are engraved: "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." Referring to that quote, no athlete in sporting history is more important than the man who took the dangerous first step across baseball's shameful color line. Though Ruth and Cobb may stand taller in sports based on popularity and household names, from a purely sociological standpoint Robinson has no challenger in significance, and it's no stretch to say that Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and President Barack Obama would have been impossible without the forward momentum Robinson supplied to the cause of racial equality.

Memory Lane, Inc. is proud to present this spectacular signed sphere autographed by the first African-American to play Major League Baseball in the modern era. This Official MacGregor International League Sphere has been signed by none other than Baseball Hall Of Famer and Brooklyn Dodger Legend, Jackie Roosevelt Robinson. Robinson smacks his autograph in customary Dodger blue with a PSA/DNA NM-MT 8 AUTOGRAPH GRADE on the side panel. Signed circa 1961-1965, Robinson adds, "Best Wishes". This High-End true single signed baseball has rarely come up in this High of an autograph grade.

During his 10-year MLB career, Robinson won the inaugural Rookie of the Year Award in 1947, was an All-Star for six consecutive seasons from 1949 through 1954, and won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1949—the first black player so honored. Robinson played in six World Series and contributed to the Dodgers' 1955 World Series championship and was inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1962 A true Brooklyn Dodger high-end collectible signed by such an Iconic Hero that you don't want to miss. Comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA for authenticity and Auto Grade as well as an LOA from JSA for authenticity.
