Don Baylor's 1987 Minnesota Twins World Series Trophy & 1987 Twins Signed Karl Jaeger Canvas/Giclee Print Celebration - Becky Baylor LOA & PSA/DNA Pre-Certified

As stated in our introduction to the Don Baylor collection, Becky Baylor made it perfectly clear that the 1987 World Championship her beloved husband won as a member of the Minnesota Twins was the most captivating moment in his illustrious 19-year career. Indeed, winning the '87 World Series meant more to him than his many awards (MVP, Silver Slugger, etc.), All-Star rings, or any of the other myriad of collectibles and/or momentous moments he captured along his remarkable MLB journey. Ironically, the prior year would see Baylor's Boston Red Sox fall to the Mets in a heart-wrenching 7-game Fall Classic with the Bo-Sox several times in game#6 coming within one strike of claiming the World Series title. That Series loss would literally "haunt" Don for nearly a year until his new team, the Minnesota Twins, would best the Cardinals the following campaign in a likewise tightly contested 7-game match.

Incredibly, Baylor was traded from Boston to Minnesota before the end of the 1987 season, only playing in 20 games before the start of the playoffs. Baylor would see limited time in the ALCS, managing two hits in only five official at-bats. The Fall Classic, however, would be a different story as Baylor posted 5 hits in 13 at-bats to the tune of a robust .385 average. He also scored 3 runs, batted in 3 runs and walloped his only World Series home run ever. As a perfect testament for his most cherished baseball moment, presented here are two artifacts directly connected to the 1987 World Series Championship. The first is the "epic" 1987 World Series trophy presented to Don Baylor with the second artifact being a 1987 Twins Karl Jaeger Canvas/Giclee Celebration signed by seven renowned Twins. Details of each offering are as follows:
1987 Minnesota Twins WS Trophy

Measuring approximately 12" tall and 8" wide, this model replica of the "Commissioner's trophy" was presented to the great Don Baylor. The elaborate design portrays 26 gold hued pennants labeled with the names of each MLB team with the pennants forming a circle around the gold colored crown affixed to the top of a golden band. A silver hued baseball is set at the base of the ring's interior with the Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals press pins mounted on smaller golden poles situated in front of the crowned band. The approximate 23" diameter wooden base is primarily covered by a brass band that features the following inscription: "WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS – MINNESOTA TWINS – 1987 – DON BAYLOR". While standard surface wear is evident including a number of faint scratches and dings, the overall aesthetics depict a superb EX+/EX/MT appearance.

20th Anniversary 1987 Minnesota Twins Signed World Champions Canvas/Giclee print by Karl Jaeger
This brilliant "matted & framed" Canvas/Giclee Print by Karl Jaeger stands as a "celebration" for the Minnesota twins 1987 World Championship. Created in 2007 as a 20th anniversary print for the Twins legendary World Series title, it has been boldly signed along the lower border in gold sharpie by seven prominent Twins including from left to right: Bert Blyleven, Tom Kelley, Tom Brunansky, Kent Hrbek, Tim Lauder and Frank Viola. Numbered "18 of 87" and likewise signed by the artist Karl Jaeger near the lower right quadrant, a full LOA/Letter by Jaeger is included detailing the origin/pedigree of the Giclee print.
