Amazing c.1930's Joe DiMaggio "Portrait" Image - PSA Type I Cosmo-Sileo Studios Photo - Measures Approx. 8" x 10" - PSA Type 1 Encapsulation

The 1936 season would mark the unprecedented emergence of the immortal Joe DiMaggio, and the Yankee rookie would not disappoint, clouting 29 round trippers and knocking in 125 runs while leading the Bronx Bombers to their first World Championship in four years. "Joltin Joe" would continue his batting and fielding exploits for the next three seasons, teaming up with Lou Gehrig to lead the Yankees to four consecutive World Championships. This absolutely amazing 8" x 10" photo portrays the Yankee Clipper revealing a stoic portrait pose, almost as if he is gazing towards a future that would see the immortal centerfielder ultimately become one of our National Pastime's greatest players.

The imposing DiMaggio image reveals remarkable clarity and contrast, with "Joltin Joe" donning his classic Yankees cap. The only flaws worthy of mention are a few scattered surface scratches as well as some negligible wrinkles that are barely visible to the naked eye. A diminutive soiling spot is situated to the right of DiMaggio's left ear, and the top center border exhibits a small tear most likely from a previously removed tack. As a final stamp of approval, the critical COSMO-SILEO credit stamp is affixed to the verso that likewise reveals no obtrusive flaws. A truly captivating heirloom from the Yankee Clipper's early Yankee years, it stands as a monumental testament to a player who, along with Willie Mays, is widely regarded as one of the two greatest centerfielders in baseball history.

In 1969, sportswriters voted DiMaggio the greatest living ballplayer; with that being no small feat considering Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams and Stan Musial were all alive when that renowned vote was cast. We cannot imagine any player who commanded the unparalleled respect of this baseball icon, who via his incredible baseball prowess and marriage to Hollywood bombshell Marilyn Monroe, will forever stand as an embodiment of a National hero! - PSA Type I Encapsulation
