(LOT 116)
1934 PSA Type I Original ACME Newspictures Photo Babe Ruth & Schoolboy Rowe PSA Type I LOA

No baseball illustration could possibly be more recognizable than George Herman 'Babe" Ruth, with this 1934 ACME Newspictures 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" PSA Type 1 photo portraying the "Sultan of Swat" and Detroit's star young right-handed twirler Schoolboy Rowe.  Taken in September 1934, Ruth would be completing his final Yankee season and would slip below .300, 30 homers and 100 R.B.I.'s for the first time since 1925.  The super clear black & white image depicts the "Sultan of Swat" in his Yankee road uniform as he shows Schoolboy Rowe his classic batting grip and mighty lumber.  A few stray wrinkles and upper left corner chip are the only obverse side blemishes worthy of discussion, and the verso reveals the critical ACME Newspictures credit stamp as well as a September 1934 caption providing details of the Ruth/Rowe illustration.   LOA – PSA/DNA Type I
