(LOT 67)
1953 Parkhurst #27 Jean Beliveau Rookie Card (PSA NM/MT 8) - Only One Graded Higher!

Arguably considered one of the top 10 players in NHL history, Jean Beliveau skated for over 20 seasons and incredibly claimed 10 Stanley Cup Championships in 10 of those campaigns! The sharp shooting left-handed Center retired in 1971 as the Montreal Canadians all-time leader in points, second all-time in goals and the NHL's all-time leading playoff scorer. Remarkably, he scored 507 goals and had 712 assists for 1,219 total points in 1,125 NHL regular-season games, and tallied an additional 79 goals and 97 assists (176 points) in 162 playoff games. A legendary Hall of Famer, he played on 10 All-Star squads and only stands behind the great Guy Lafleur as the Canadians all-time leading scorer. As any sports legend, his most prized cardboard collectible is his true rookie card, with an absolutely brilliant Jean Beliveau 1953 Parkhurst inaugural example presented here in a PSA NM/MT 8 holder.

Amazing, to date, only a single PSA example has managed to achieve a higher grade, placing this hallowed offering as one of the finest of its kind! The aesthetics of this awe-inspiring card are consistent with the iconic player himself, with Beliveau's extremely colorful skating image revealing the finest possible rich hues and near-immaculate surface. The relatively well-centered illustration does exhibit some modest partiality towards the lower right edges, and the four corners still retain a majority of their original right-angled formations. A super clean verso is the final superlative for one of Hockey's most significant rookie cards along with immortal players such as Howe, Orr, Gretzky, and Hull, just to mention a few. An offering worthy of esteemed accolades, it future owner will claim bragging rights for owning an inaugural high-grade specimen of one of hockey's all-time greats, and a card only bested by a measly single example!
