(LOT 953)
1937 Honus Wagner Signed Official N.L. Ford Frick Baseball - Full JSA/James Spence LOA

This Official N.L. Ford Frick signed baseball just happens to include the exalted signature of none other than 1936 Hall of Fame Charter Member J. Honus Wagner. Scripted lightly on the North Panel, the autograph reads: "J. Honus Wagner Pirates 1937", presenting itself in approximate "VG/EX 4" strength, and signed in 1937 during his Pittsburgh Pirates. Still fully legible, the signature is scripted in period-style black fountain pen with the opposite South Panel portraying a lighter script of "Chief" Meyers that barely reads: "Jack Chief Meyers NY Giants."

The ball itself still reveals the critical Ford Frick stamp, and while there is some general wear/toning and scattered light notching to the horsehide surface, the tight red stitching is fully intact. He was not only a marvelous mechanical player, but he had the quickest baseball brain I have ever observed." Indeed, Honus Wagner could do it all, and it is with little surprise that his collectibles are among the most coveted artifacts in our illustrious hobby, with this signed baseball surely one of those ultra-desirable heirlooms! - Full JSA/James Spence LOA
