(LOT 160)
"Unique for the Grade" 1947-'66 Exhibits – Willie Mays "Batting" (PSA Mint 9) - "1 of 2"; HIGHEST GRADED Example!

This magnificent PSA Mint 9 Willie Mays "Batting" 1947-'66 Exhibit has only been joined by a single other example as the finest of its kind! Issued over a 20-year period by the Chicago based Exhibit Supply Company, the colossal 1947-1966 exhibit compilation consists of roughly 336 subjects including all of its many variations. As is the case with virtually all post-1950 sets, one of the most valuable and coveted cards are the two various "Say Hey Kid" subjects that could actually suffice as additional Willie Mays "rookie cards" considering the inaugural release date of these exhibits were the 1947 calendar year (Mays exhibits possibly released in 1951?).

Substantiating the near-impossible "9" assessment is the enthralling visual appeal that depicts an immaculate-like Willie Mays batting pose with the "Say Hey Kid" showcasing his classic "GIANTS" period-style uniform. Brilliant sepia-tone color, vivid resolution, no visible surface flaws, and razor-sharp corners all substantiate the "Mint 9" grade that synonymous with Mays' unparalleled place in baseball history, places this museum worthy masterpiece as the finest of its kind!
