(LOT 1065)
1955 National League All-Star Game Official Giles Baseball Signed by 30 National League Players (Incl. Aaron, Mays, Musial, Banks, Durocher/SS & Hodges) - Lot Includes '55 All-Star Program & Blank '55 All-Star Ballot Full JSA LOA

Presented here is a seldom-surfacing 1955 National League All-Star game "bonanza" package including an Official N.L. Warren Giles signed baseball with 30 scripts, an unscored 1955 Milwaukee County All-Star Game unscored program and an extremely scarce blank 1955 All-Star Ballot. The 45,643 faithful fans attending the mid-summer classic were fortunate to see "Bonus Baseball" as the National League bested the junior circuit by a 6-5 score in 12 innings at Milwaukee's County Stadium via a "walk-off" homer by the immortal Stan "The Man" Musial! This incredible baseball just happens to include ALL 25 National League rostered players (a list of each script is provided at the end of the description) as well as manager Leo Durocher, two coaches and the National League's bullpen catcher Bob Keely who was the Milwaukee Braves 1955 bullpen coach/catcher.

Therefore, a total of 29 scripts in bold blue fountain pen are affixed to this horsehide treasure with a 30th unidentified rogue signature directly beneath Stan Musial on the North Panel. Nine of these all-stars are Cooperstown inductees including Durocher (SS), Aaron, Mays, Musial, Mathews, Banks, Roberts, Schoendienst, and Snider with a highly notable Gil Hodges also included on this amazing Warren Giles Official baseball offering. The unscored 1955 program is also in exceptional condition, revealing minimal abuse, superb aesthetics, a solid spine, unscored AL and NL lineups in the center of the book, relatively clean surfaces on the covers/pages and only some modest corner wear/layering. To the excitement of any collector, the scorebook includes a myriad of photos for both the A.L. and N.L. stars including Mantle, Berra, Mays, Aaron, Musial and so many more Cooperstown residents.

As a final exclamation point, a rare 1955 all-star ballot is also included with the non completed ballot in exceptional condition. A magnificent 1955 All-Star Game ensemble, it conjures up vivid memories of our National Pastime's post-WWII legends and how they performed on one of baseball's grandest stages! For full disclosure, listed below are the scripted autographs on each panel (Note: the JSA LOA inadvertently lists 23 total signatures vs. the 29 identified and 1 unidentified signature): Sweet Spot: Leo Durocher/HOF (Manager) Reverse Side Sweet Spot (Scripted over the Official N.L. Baseball Caption): Mayo Smith (Coach) West Panel: Fred Haney (Coach); Red Schoendienst/HOF; Willie Mays/HOF; Sam Jones; Joe Nuxhall, Duke Snider/HOF East Panel: Stan Lopata (replaced Campanella on the Roster); Harvey Haddix; Ernie Banks/HOF; Johnny Logan; Gene Baker; Luis Arroyo; Ted Kluszewski; Robin Roberts/HOF North Panel: Randy Jackson, Del Crandall, Frank Thomas, Smoky Burgess; Stan Musial/HOF (A sixth signature beneath Musial has not been identified) South Panel: Bob Keely (Bullpen Catcher); Gene Conley; Hank Aaron/HOF; Ed Mathews/HOF; Don Mueller; Gil Hodges (Notable); Del Ennis; Don Newcombe
