1980 O-Pee-Chee #289 Mark Messier Rookie "Back Says Shoot Right" PSA 10 GEM MT
GEM MINT MESSIER ROOKIE!!! One of the games greats, this Rookie card of Mark Messier is from the 1980/81 O-Pee-Chee series. Always a tough card in high grade, this one defies the odds in landing in a PSA 10 GEM MINT holder. Messier played for the Edmonton Oilers during the 1979-80 season, which started off his HOF stats. A legendary career, he had 6 Stanley Cups, two Hart Memorial Trophies, one Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP, two Lester B. Pearson Awards as NHL MVP as voted by the Player's Association and fifteen All-Star games.

Messier was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007. This card is considered a UER or an uncorrected error card. O-Pee-Chee accidentally printed on the back of the card that Messier shoots right when he is, in fact, a left-handed shooter. The error was minor and never corrected, so all of the cards have the same back. As good as it gets, this one is PRISTINE!!! He shoots, he scores!!!
