c.1920's Babe Ruth Girl Scout Original Type I Underwood & Underwood Photo - Measures Approx. 6-1/2" x 8-1/2" - PSA Type I LOA
It is surely no secret that outside of the playing field, the immortal George Herman "Babe" Ruth was one of the most benevolent athletes around the globe. His pure love for children was second to none, most likely originating from the fact that he, himself, spent years in St. Mary's orphanage, surrounded by deserted and unloved children the better part of his childhood. Simply stated, "The Babe" adored virtually every youth he met, and this extremely eclectic PSA Type 1 c.1920's image portrays the Bambino taking a photoshoot with an avid Girl Scout fan. Taken with Ruth donning his period style "New York" road uniform, the Girl Scout poster held by Ruth in his colossal sized left hand mentions the year 1924 for week October 20th-27th, most likely making this a 1924 image (although PSA's LOA states c.1920's).

A girl scout image also graces the poster as well as the following additional verbiage: "GIVE TO HER SHE GIVES SERVICE". Highlighting this image is the large girl scout cookie affixed in Ruth's mouth as he grins at his seemingly exhilarated and new female friend. The central image emanates sensational contrast and clarity and no obtrusive flaws are evident, with only a few diminutive stray surface wrinkles barely visible to the naked eye.
