(LOT 53)
1915 Cracker Jack #167 Clark Griffith (SGC 96 MINT 9) - Only One Graded Higher on the COMBINED SGC & PSA Pop Charts!

Only the T206 Monster Set can boast the prestige of the 1914 and 1915 Cracker Jack compilations that are loaded with many of our National Pastime's Cooperstown inductees. One of those prestigious Hall of Famers, legendary Senators owner Clark Griffith, is presented here in a miraculous SGC "Mint 9" holder. Currently, only 3 other examples exist at this pinnacle tier with NONE graded higher on the COMBINES SGC and PSA census reports! While winning 240 games over a super major league career, the "Old Fox", as he was commonly called, was more renowned for his 20-year managerial stint with four different ball clubs as well as becoming the major owner of the Washington Nationals.

His classic Carl Horner portrait image is nothing short of sensational, set against a bold "fire engine" red background. The well centered illustration only reveals an extremely slight favoritism towards the upper edge, enclosed by four dazzling white borders, razor sharp edges and pinpoint corners that could actually draw blood. A "blazer" to say the least, if you are building a superior Cracker Jack set or simply assembling high grade Hall of Famers, then you should seize this remarkable Clark Griffith specimen that proudly boasts the title of "the finest of its kind"!
