Most historians regard Ted Williams as the greatest hitter who ever lived, fulfilling the dream of the "Splendid Splinter" of walking down the street and having people state: "there goes the greatest hitter in baseball history"! Indeed, Williams wore out American league hurlers to the tune of a .344 lifetime batting average and 521 round-trippers, the latter a remarkable achievement considering he lost 5 years due to fighter pilot stints in WWII and the Korean War. Remarkably, his "camera-like" eyes enabled him to shoot down 16 enemy aircraft, with his coupled baseball and war efforts placing him as the true embodiment of a National hero.

As a testament to his unbridled legacy, presented here is an outstanding VINTAGE signed Official A.L. Harridge baseball, with a period-style blue ink "Ted Williams" eloquently scripted on the sweet spot most likely during the period of 1956-1958. Portraying solid "8+" strength, the signature resides on a surface that reveals only moderate toning, with the spectacular aesthetics far superseding the few negligible toning spots and/or even surface wear. The reverse side Harridge stamp is fully legible, and the red stitching remains completely intact.
