Presented here is an extremely obscure September 21, 1927 newspaper image of Waite Hoyt, Babe Ruth, Miller Huggins, Bob Meusel and Bob Shawkey, taken directly after the Yankees clinched the 1927 American League pennant. Issued by the Illustrated Current News, it measures a colossal 12-1/2" x 18", and save the vertical and horizontal folding lines, has retained a majority of its original aesthetics including a crystal-clear image of these five Yankee legends.
