(LOT 616)
Two 1937 Autographed "Cuts" including Babe Ruth, Dizzy Dean, Gene Sarazen & Mickey Cochrane – "Fresh to the Hobby" From a Massachusetts Family Archive – PSA/DNA Encapsulation

Presented here are two PSA encapsulated "cuts", one of which includes the legendary signatures of Dizzy Dean, Babe Ruth, HOF golfing icon Gene Sarazen, and formidable golfer Billy Burke. The second "cut" includes the signature of the formidable HOF catcher Mickey Cochrane, who as most people don't even realize, was the player Mickey Mantle's father named his son after. Both of these offerings were obtained at the Yankee's 1937 Clearwater, FL. Spring training facility in 1937 by our consignor's dad "Buster" who was an avid Yankee fan growing up in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey.

Similar to the previous lot (Babe Ruth signed golfing photo), Buster captured these autographs on a golf course utilized by Babe Ruth and his companions that included the great Gene Sarazen and Billy Burke. Treasured for all of his life, Buster eventually presented them to his daughter Trudy who has now decided to have Memory Lane offer them to another ardent baseball collector. Of utmost significance is the extremely bold Babe Ruth signature that has obviously been scripted in period-style black fountain pen. A superb "fresh to the hobby" pair of signed family mementos, our consignor truly hopes they provide their new owner with the same joy experienced by her father for a seemingly infinite amount of time! – PSA/DNA Encapsulation
