1937 Tony Lazzeri Type I Original ACME Newspictures Photo – Measures Approx. 7" x 9" - PSA Type 1 Encapsulation
The New York Yankees legendary Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri was one of the main five cogs of the iconic 1927 Yankees "Murderers Row" wrecking crew (along with Ruth, Gehrig, Combs and Meusel), leading the Yankees to one of the greatest season's in baseball history. His batting prowess enabled him to bat in over 100 runs seven different seasons, and he was a member of five different New York Yankee championship teams. Synonymous with his Yankee World Series titles is the championship caliber of this outstanding PSA Type 1 photo that measures approximately 7" x 9". Portrayed in a bunting position during 1937 Spring Training in St. Petersburg, Florida, the photo was issued by ACME Newspictures on March 3, 1937 with the verso including a full caption detailing the event. Brilliant resolution and stellar contrast highlight this rather "unique" image that has eluded any obtrusive flaws and represents a standout Cooperstown inductee seldom seen on period-style photos. - PSA Type I Encapsulation
