No baseball milestone may be as heralded as the distinguished feat of hitting 500 major league home runs. True, while momentous feats such as 3,000 hits, 300 wins and 3,000 strikeouts all reside as critical events, no one of them compare to the euphoria of the 500-home run club. This viewpoint is soundly justified by the fact that the "Round-Tripper" stands as our National Pastime's most exciting feat, with legendary fence busters such as Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle and Barry Bonds, just to mention a few, electrifying baseball's avid fan base in an unparalleled manner. Therefore, it is no secret that one of our illustrious hobby's foremost collecting angles is pursuing baseballs, bats and photos signed by as many possible 27 current 500 HR Club members.

Our current auction actually includes all of the above in separate lots; a 500 HR Club signed photo, baseball bat and ball. However, much to the excitement of the most advanced hobbyist, this extraordinary lot includes 24 of the 27 500 HR Club single signed baseballs sporting an unfathomable 9.52 PSA/DNA grade! Of the three missing baseballs, Babe Ruth and Jimmie Foxx are presented in the auction as separate lots, with only a Mel Ott ball missing from this world-class ensemble. The complete 26 ball collection (including the Ruth & Foxx balls) is currently ranked as the 5th finest compilation on the prestigious PSA Registry with a staggering 9.214 G.P.A! Of the 24 balls in this lot, an amazing 12 or half of them have achieved the pinnacle PSA Gem Mint 10 Grade, with the remaining 12 baseballs including three "9.5's"; seven "9's" and two "8.5's".

The two highly coveted baseballs of Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams have both graded "Mint 9's", and 15 of the 24 balls represent Cooperstown inductees. Our ultimate compliments to the esteemed consignor of this remarkable gathering for it is obvious that he meticulously chose some of the finest aesthetically pleasing scripted horsehide spheres extant.
