1926-1929 Exhibits Babe Ruth Postcard Back - (Pose) PSA 4 VG-EX

RUTH!!! The W461 "Anonymous" Exhibits/Postcards were issued approximately between 1926 and 1929, and are considered one of the tougher exhibit issues to assemble, easily distinguished by the "Not TO BE USED IN EXHIBIT MACHINE" notation on the postcard back. With 16 subjects in the set, like most exhibit issues, the two most popular and valuable players are Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig with the "Bambino's" seldom-offered card presented here in a superb PSA 4 holder. For all his batting achievements, none could ever be more distinguished and recognized than Babe Ruth's 714 home runs.

That 714 figure is absolutely majestic at its mere mention (does everyone know Barry Bonds final home run total?), and this superb black & white representation of the "Sultan of Swat" pictures him "bat in hand", ready to step to the plate to wallop another one of his majestic round trippers. Babe Ruth was larger than the game itself, and the mere mention of his hallowed name inspires anyone with the slightest understanding of our National Pastime's glorious history. His imposing "bat over shoulder" black & white image provides the utmost aesthetically pleasing qualities including near perfect contrast and sharp focus.

You can virtually feel the "Babe" gripping the bat as he prepares to wreck havoc on another helpless pitcher. Mildly rounded corners still provide a super eye pleasing uniformity with some surface wear near the upper left and lower right corners preventing this card from achieving an even higher grade. A relatively clean postcard back completes one of the finest "VG-VG+" examples you will ever come across, and considering this is one of the more obscure Babe Ruth postcards circulating in the hobby, we highly advise you to make this "Ruthian" artifact your own!?
