(LOT 451)
1909 T206 Ty Cobb Red Portrait "CYCLE 350" (PSA VG 3) - Only 3 "Cycle 350" Cobbs Listed on the PSA "Pop" Chart!

RARE COBB!!! This seldom surfacing PSA 3 T206 Red Portrait Ty Cobb Cycle 350 tobacco subject suffices as one of the highly coveted T206 Cobb's in the hobby. Incredibly, of the 1,900 PSA encapsulated Red Portrait Cobb's, PSA only lists a mere 3 "Cycle 350" examples, with only a single specimen graded higher! Amongst the most desirable T206 Cooperstown inductees would be any of the four T206 Ty Cobb issues, and when you place a rather scarce cigarette advertisement on their versos, any serious collector immediately takes notice.

Consider that advanced enthusiasts are significantly enticed when a common T206 player includes a Cycle cigarette brand back, let alone an issue of one of baseball's five original Hall of Famers, and arguably, the greatest "5 tool" player in baseball history. The card itself provides a classic Carl Horner portrait image of the fiery "Georgia Peach" legend that is set against a robust red background. His iconic pose is extremely well-centered with the surface eluding any obtrusive creasing and/or other notable flaws. While the accurate "VG" assessment is most likely due to some modest corner wear and a few negligible areas of diminutive snow on the red background, its overall aesthetics are more consistent with a VG+ - VG/EX specimen.

The critical reverse side "Cycle Cigarettes 350 Subjects" advertisement, including the legible "Factory #25, 2nd Dist. VA."., text, is vividly portrayed in jet black print and set against a relatively clean background. In closing, due to the T206 ad-back "frenzy" that continues to consume the baseball card hobby, most would agree that this Cycle 350 Georgia Peach Red Portrait marvel merits a final resting place in any esteemed tobacco card gathering!
