ORIGINAL FEIN AUTOGRAPHED PHOTO!!! Nathaniel Fein was an American Press Photographer for the New York Herald Tribune for thirty-three years. Fein is known for photographing Babe Ruth at the end of his life, winning the 1949 Pulitzer Prize for his photograph "The Babe Bows Out". Although considered to be one of the greatest human interest photographers in journalism, he carried the distinction of having taken "The most celebrated photograph in sports history." (NY Times, 1992). Fein's Babe Ruth image was the first sports picture to win a Pulitzer Prize.

Offered in this lot is a 9.75" x 7.25" photograph made from the original 4" x 5" negative that has been autographed by Nat Fein as follows: To Otto, Best Wishes, Nat Fein. The picture itself is in EX condition with slight toning concerns front and back. This picture, known as "The Babe Bows Out", was taken by Nat on June 13th, 1948, which was the 25th anniversary of Yankee Stadium and the day the Babe's number was retired.
